Punk Love Opening Reception - Friday, Feb. 7, 2025
Punk rock, hairstyling, portrait photography, and edgy DIY valentines. All in one night at an art gallery—that’s the kind of art experience you can only get at GDAC! This past Friday we celebrated the opening of our newest signature exhibition, Punk Love, in Gough Gallery with the help of some amazing local talent. Our thanks to Nip Slip for playing an incredible set in Festival Hall while stylists from Studio LaSalle and photographer Marie Fox of Headshot Headquarters punked out people’s hair with tinsel and feather extensions and photographed stunning portraits. The combined power of expressive arts from the band and both of our business partners for Share the Love made for an energetic and unforgettable evening.
And, of course, a huge thanks to everyone who came to celebrate with us and make some punk rock valentines in the gallery! We’re so grateful for the turnout and everyone who supported us with a donation. The best art happens with the engagement and collaboration of a supportive community like Denton’s. Punk Love is on display until Saturday, Feb. 22 and the gallery will have the DIY valentines station for the duration of the show.
See you again in just a few weeks for the grand opening of our 38th annual Materials Hard + Soft!
